A STRESSFUL EVERYDAY
About two years ago, Ida's everyday life was completely different from what it is today. At that time, she worked full-time as a teacher at Alta VGS, was a mother of two children and all that that entails. She trained a lot, and was also involved as a coach and instructor at Spenst. She had already been an active skier for many years.
Her job as a teacher demanded a lot from her. She often stayed up late at night after the children had gone to bed, correcting student assignments. It would be close to one o'clock before she felt satisfied, because she was so focused on doing a good job. Her sleep was also poor, meaning far too few hours of sleep per night.
In addition, she had a husband who worked away a lot, and she was alone with the responsibilities much of the time. On the home front, she always had a couple of projects lying around:
"I simply had a hard time sitting still. There was always something to paint or build at home, or gardening," Ida says.
It was doomed to go wrong. Her husband had tried countless times to tell her that she couldn't keep going like this.
THEN CAME THE BANG
"You don't see it even when you're in the middle of it, you simply become blind to your own situation," Ida admits.
The diet hadn't been that good either, because she hadn't had the time to focus on it. Ida was initially concerned about health and diet, but simply didn't have the time or energy to cook nutritious food.
"I know that ready-made food from the store doesn't have the nutrients you need, so my body definitely needed supplements," says Ida.
Suddenly one day it dawned on her, when the Christmas holidays of 2023 finally arrived. When the Christmas holidays finally arrived, she ended up sleeping all day. She had no energy to be outside with the kids, go skiing or sledding.
JUST FELT UNCOMFORTABLE AND NAUSEOUS
Ida just lay on the couch and was completely exhausted. In January, she managed to go to work for two weeks before it hit her. She experienced nausea when she went to work, and she got angry very quickly and had a short temper.
"I realized that it was the job that was the worst for me. When I came to work, I felt unwell and had heart palpitations. It was probably my body's reaction to the fact that I wasn't going back here again."
Ida was sick all this time, and did not get better. She had a cold, the flu, was constantly weak and coughing. She went to the doctor and was diagnosed with a low immune system. Her lymph nodes were also swollen and she had low levels of white blood cells, leukocytes. Her body simply had an infection, and it went on like this for several weeks. She was even examined for blood cancer.
UNDERSTOOD THAT SHE HAD TO TAKE CARE OF HERSELF
"I had no energy after work to be with the children. When it was taking such a toll on the children, I realized I had to do something," says Ida.

"I start my morning with a glass of OptiMSM mixed with Mind+Body Boost . I also take two capsules of Collagen .
Due to my challenges with low iron stores, I make sure to get enough vitamin C during the day, so that the body can more easily absorb iron from the various meals. Here I either take an extra bag of OptiMSM, or a tablet with Zinc and vitamin C, occasionally I take a couple of the children's vitamin C tablets.
